Read my blog where I share reflections from my life as an event planner, from behind-the-scenes event adventures to lessons learned balancing mom life along the way. My goal is to offer honest insights that inspire fellow planners and encourage both personal and professional growth.
Event Leaders Are Agile Strategists (We Just Don’t Call It That)
For part of my career, I’ve lived in two worlds.
In one, I was leading large-scale events — managing sponsors, executives, venues, vendors, floor plans, budgets, and thousands of attendees (usually before my second cup of coffee).
In the other, I was surrounded by agile practitioners — talking about backlogs, retrospectives, cross-functional alignment, and flow.
At some point, standing in a ballroom at 6:00 a.m. with a headset on, I had a realization:
We are solving the same problems.
Event-Led Growth Starts with the Outcome, Not the Agenda
Let’s be honest—event planning often starts with the wrong question:
“What should the agenda look like?”
But if you want your event to drive real business results, that’s not the place to begin.
Event-Led Growth (ELG) isn’t about doing more events. It’s about making every event matter more—by designing them to drive specific business outcomes across the customer journey.
